Radlett Festival 2010 - Music, a mountain bike display and a grand buffet will be among an array of attractions at the two-day festival, held at the Phillimore Recreation Ground, Gills Hill, Radlett, starting Saturday, June 12. Gates open at 5.30pm with the music programme starting at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £8 with under 16s going free. Attractions at the village fair, starting at noon on Sunday, include a mountain bike display, a Tom Jones tribute artist, a dog show, a fun fair and stalls selling a range of goodies. Tickets cost £2.50 in advance and £3 on the day with under 16s admitted free. Tickets for both events are available from the parish council offices. Find out more on the Radlett Festival website. Diwali celebrations in Letchmore Heath this weekend - ONE thousand lanterns will float up into the night sky in a bid for world peace. 15,000 are expected to witness the lanterns being released after a spectacular firework display at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple on Sunday (October 18). Middlesex County Cricket Club in Radlett move - Middlesex CCC are in advanced discussions with Radlett Cricket Club to move their administrative and training headquarters to Radlett in a stunning £1 million project that could see stars such as Andrew Strauss and Owais Shah become familiar faces at Cobden Hill next year. Rail freight public inquiry set for November - it has now been announced that a planning inquiry is set to begin on November 24. It is scheduled to take place for 16 days. Read more in the Borehamwood Times. (24 Sep 09)

Watford Road traffic congestion for 15 weeks - National Grid & Morrison Utility Services will be upgrading 900 metres of gas mains on Watford Road, starting on Monday. Watford Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic where work is taking place and temporary traffic lights used. (5 Sep 09)

Hot-air balloon lands in Radlett field - The balloon, which normally comes to Earth around St Albans following site-seeing flights over the city, drifted off its normal course and ended up in fields adjacent to Common Lane. Read more in the Herts Advertiser. (13 Aug 09)

Free Health Walk in Radlett on Friday 14 August - Starting from Battlers Green Farm Shops, Common Lane. A 2 mile circular walk sets off at 10:30am. The walk includes moderate hills and some stiles. It is recommended that you take water with you and wear suitable shoes.

Crowds will flock to Aldenham for festival - Next weekend, over 65,000 people are expected to visit the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple to celebrate Janmashtami , a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna. Organisers are advising people to come to the manor off Hilfield Lane , Aldenham, at off-peak times, as there will be considerable traffic from 5pm to 9pm on Friday and from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday. Cath makes Radlett cricket history - Catherine McNeill was called up for Radlett's fifth team against Sawbridgeworth IV on Saturday, to become the first woman player to represent the club in the Herts League. Read more in the Borehamwood Times. (24 Jul 09)

Rail freight depot application rejected again - Campaigners who packed a planning meeting last night burst into applause when coucillors unanimously threw out the second application for a giant goods yard on Green Belt land near Radlett. Rail passengers group against freight depot - RAIL passengers protection group ATOC has come out strongly against development of a rail freight depot in Park Street. The response of the Association of Train Operating Companies, which works in conjunction with industry partners such as Network Rail and the Department for Transport in terms of strategic planning and development, has just been received by St Albans district council. Extra Cricket Courses at Radlett

Radlett propose to extend their highly successful cricket coaching for 6-13 year olds for an additional two weeks starting 16 August. A final decision will be made on Friday 6 August. If your children are interested in a whole week (£80) or single days (£20) you can register your interest by CLICKING HERE.

The Red House Patients Group

The Red House Patients' Group is open to all patients registered with the Red House Group of Practices: The Red House, 124 Watling Street, Radlett; Park Street Surgery, 10 Withy Place, Park Street; and the Gateways Surgery, Andrew Close, Porters Park Drive, Shenley.

The Red House Patients' Group is a voluntary organisation depending on donations and subscriptions from its members. The annual subscription is just £3.00 although larger donations are most welcome. Click here to find out more.....

Walks Around Radlett - a new booklet released January 2010

This booklet has been produced by a group of local volunteers with additional financial support from The Radlett Festival Committee and The Radlett Society and Green Belt Association.

The walks have been selected to enable walkers of all ages and walking abilities to explore the area around Radlett.
