Diwali celebrations in Letchmore Heath this weekend - ONE thousand
lanterns will float up into the night sky in a bid for world peace. 15,000 are expected to witness the lanterns
being released after a spectacular firework display at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple on Sunday

Middlesex County Cricket Club in Radlett move - Middlesex CCC are in
advanced discussions with Radlett Cricket Club to move their administrative and training headquarters to
Radlett in a stunning £1 million project that could see stars such as Andrew Strauss and Owais Shah become

Rail freight public inquiry set for November - it has now been announced
that a planning inquiry is set to begin on November 24. It is scheduled to take place for 16 days. Read more in

Watford Road traffic congestion for 15 weeks - National Grid &
Morrison Utility Services will be upgrading 900 metres of gas mains on Watford Road, starting on Monday.
Watford Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic where work is taking place and temporary traffic lights

Hot-air balloon lands in Radlett field - The balloon, which normally
comes to Earth around St Albans following site-seeing flights over the city, drifted off its normal course and

Free Health Walk in Radlett on Friday 14 August - Starting from Battlers
Green Farm Shops, Common Lane. A 2 mile circular walk sets off at 10:30am. The walk includes moderate hills and
some stiles. It is recommended that you take water with you and wear suitable shoes.
Crowds will flock to Aldenham for festival - Next weekend, over 65,000
people are expected to visit the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple to celebrate Janmashtami , a Hindu festival that
celebrates the birth of Krishna. Organisers are advising people to come to the manor off Hilfield Lane ,
Aldenham, at off-peak times, as there will be considerable traffic from 5pm to 9pm on Friday and from 2pm to

Cath makes Radlett cricket history - Catherine McNeill was called up for
Radlett's fifth team against Sawbridgeworth IV on Saturday, to become the first woman player to represent the

Rail freight depot application rejected again - Campaigners who packed a
planning meeting last night burst into applause when coucillors unanimously threw out the second application
for a giant goods yard on Green Belt land near Radlett. But would-be developer Helioslough has confirmed there

Rail passengers group against freight depot - RAIL passengers protection
group ATOC has come out strongly against development of a rail freight depot in Park Street. The response of
the Association of Train Operating Companies, which works in conjunction with industry partners such as Network
Rail and the Department for Transport in terms of strategic planning and development, has just been received by

This booklet has been produced by a group of local volunteers with additional financial support from The Radlett
Festival Committee and The Radlett Society and Green Belt Association.
The walks have been selected to enable walkers of all ages and walking abilities to explore the area around
Radlett.
This booklet of nine walks can be obtained from the Aldenham Parish Council Offices, Batlers Green Farm Shop and
